Messy Art Lab COVID-19 Safety Measures and Protocols

We have been offering in-person programming since the Fall of 2020 and have been following the latest recommendations from the Health Officer of the City of San Francisco and the CDC.

The following measures are being taken to keep staff and artists safe while visiting the studio.

  • Temperatures will be taken at the door using a touchless thermometer. Any person with a temperature over 100 F will not be allowed to enter the studio that day. We recommend taking your temperature at your home prior to coming to Messy Art Lab.

  • All adults and children 2 and up are required to wear masks in order to enter the studio. We will provide masks if needed.

  • To increase ventilation we keep windows and doors open at all times.*

  • We have installed several air purifiers using HEPA filters in every area of the studio.*

We ask of all families and staff members to:

  • Limit your exposure to COVID-19 by following social distancing protocols at all times.

  • Do not come to the studio if you or your child(ren) had any symptoms of illness, or had contact with someone suspected to have COVID-19, or with a confirmed case of COVID-19

  • When entering Messy Art Lab please wash your hands.

  • We are a shoe-free environment. Please bring slippers or socks.

Additionally, during drop-off classes and camps:

  • Offer ample opportunity for outdoor activities.

  • Wear a face covering when dropping off and picking up your child(ren).

  • All students and staff members are screened every day with a no-touch thermometer before entering the program.

  • Children need to wear a well-fitted mask at all times, except for mealtimes, which happen outdoors (weather permitting).

  • Frequent hand washing will be encouraged.

Our community is very careful and conscientious of the shared responsibility of following the recommended precautions. As an FYI, here is a quick guide to the steps and procedures for when someone has suspected or confirmed COVID-19.
